Since 1967 Colloids has had an outstanding reputation for supplying high quality masterbatches/concentrates for use in the thermoplastics industry and has grown both organically and through acquisition. We are a rapidly expanding manufacturing business with our main manufacturing plant a headquarters based in Merseyside.
We are currently seeking experienced Manufacturing Assistants and Process Operators to join our Production team, based at our headquarters in Liverpool. This role will be reporting directly to the Production Manager and will interact with all departments across the business. The successful candidate will be joining a leading Global Masterbatch business at an exciting time of growth and expansion.
Key Responsibilities for a Manufacturing Assistant include:
Assisting with the completion of tasks within the production area. This will include cleaning, packaging the operation of equipment through supervision. To develop skills necessary to gain promotion to an operator’s position should the vacancy arise. The role should operate to the company’s policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities for a Process Operator include:
Responsible for the safe operation of equipment and processes as part of the shift team and in accordance with company policies and procedures in order to reach company target. Working as part of a team, assisting others in carrying out their duties within the production area. Having the willingness to pass on knowledge and experience to others, particularly the Manufacturing assistant.

We want candidates with the right aptitude and attitude to learn, who can ultimately be effective in delivering what needs to be done, on time, with minimal management. We are also looking for individuals who are keen to progress and learn, as the business plans to grow and invest in its people and infrastructure.
On a daily basis, you will be working in teams and operating large scale machinery to very specific conditions, ensuring that a safe working environment and our industry standards are maintained at all times. There are additional responsibilities too to ensure the equipment is fit for purpose and our product quality standards are met.
Manufacturing plastics can be a dirty business, so we need teams who help to maintain a high standard of housekeeping and plant cleanliness. There are laundry facilities provided by the company for your own personal PPE and onsite shower facilities for use at the end of shifts.
Dependent upon the team and plant, you would either work 12-hour continental shifts on 4 on, 4 off basis, or rotating 8 hour shifts from Monday-Friday (Shift premiums are reflected in the salary rates above).
